He saw her across the room….he knew there was something special there.

She thought….this guy is weird.

He knew she was the one.

She thought…this guy is weird.

Haha, no she eventually thought….he was right, there is something special here…it just took her….mmm about three days!

Well it only took them a few days to decide they were meant to be and only three months to wed.

Hey, if you know, you know right? Life’s too short to wait for the grass to grow, especially when you meet in foreign country!

I had the pleasure of photographing the true and pure love of Des and Sam earlier this month at the First Christian Church in Phoenix. A Frank Lloyd Wright building, it’s character and beautiful stained glass personified their spirit – the perfect place to exchange vows. They had a small ceremony of just close family and friends.

The reception was at the beautiful Different Pointe of View at the Pointe Hilton Resort Tapatio Cliffs. Stunning views of Phoenix and a swank modern environment made for a perfect setting to celebrate.

Congratulations Des and Sam, I know you will be happy. You are so compassionate and giving, together I know you’ll affect positive change in the world. Have a wonderful honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico! So jealous…it’s rainy, cold and gloomy here =(

The “first look” prior to the ceremony. This is a great opportunity to have a private moment to see your future bride/groom without a crowd of people in a church. Somehow, to each couple, this moment is made of personalized magic. It smells like passion and it feels like love.

It’s coordinated by me, so that it’s definitely the first time you see your love that day. The first look allows us to have enough time to take all the essential portraits before the ceremony…we won’t have to worry about losing light and relying on flash photography, which isn’t the best for portraits. By doing the first look before the ceremony, we aren’t rushed to get the photos of you, bridal party, family and friends before the sun sets and it gets dark, we can do most of it before the ceremony starts! But this is a decision you have to make for yourself and I’m open to whatever you decide!
