a scottdale engagement session | scottsdale wedding photographer

February 28th, 2010 , Posted in engagement

A few weekends ago I met up with my clients Natalie and Patrick at the Scottsdale Civic Plaza for their engagement photo session. They are getting married in May at the Ancala Country Club, one of my favorite wedding sites in Arizona. Partly because the ever fabulous Dawn, a Beverly Clark Certified Wedding Professional, is there to help brides keep calm on their wedding day by taking care of all the details! And she helps me stay calm by keeping me on my time line! So anyone looking for a wedding site with a built in wedding planner, Ancala Country Club is a great place to start!

So back to the fabulous, in their own right, Natalie and Patrick. They chose the Scottsdale Civic Plaza as their engagement session location, which I love. Because of the awesome LOVE statue there.

I love the awesome colors and textures at the Scottsdale Civic Plaza. It’s such a fresh and colorful place!scottdale engagement photos

A little about Natalie that I think is awesome…she goes to graduate school at ASU studying something that is way beyond my comprehension! Basically, she’s waaay smarter than me…and she’s gorgeous to boot! Who said you can’t have both brains and beauty? I think Patrick couldn’t agree more!scottdale engagement photos

Although I think Patrick has something special going on for him too….how am I so lucky to have the best and most gorgeous couple’s in Arizona?

wedding day | south asian wedding photography

The final entry of the beautiful wedding of Pam and Pankaj! This is the events leading up to the wedding night! I was with Pam throughout the day, and took pictures of her getting ready. She had the most beautiful dress, which she bought on a trip to India, and jewelry. She got ready at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort and that is where the ceremony was held later that night. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort is one of the most beautiful resorts I have shot at. It really is one of the top resort’s in Arizona.

Pam had the assistance of the amazingly talented Heather Wilson to do her makeup that day. She has the most stunning eyes, so Heather had a great palette to work with!

Doesn’t she have the most stunning features??

I’m so excited to be a member of WPPI, it’s inspiring to be part of an amazing photography conference! You may also see me at the RedCart booth on Monday speaking as a current client and answering any questions you may have about the online proofing service. I haven’t been a member for long, but I love it so far and my clients seem to be loving it as well!

wedding chicks’ love nest | preferred photographer

February 24th, 2010 , Posted in promotion, weddings

One of my favorite sites, WeddingChicks.com, has recently launched a brand new feature to it’s site. Brides and grooms can now sign up to be a Love Nest couple on WeddingChicks.com. Basically, it’s a place to share all about your uber fabulous wedding! I know that many people love talking about their wedding with friends and family, but now you can talk about it with the world!

All you have to do is register and share all about your wedding plans, share engagement photos (hopefully mine!), DIY projects, and more. I encourage all my brides and grooms, and those out on the Internet, to register for this awesome opportunity.

And now on to a CONTEST! If you register for a Love Nest Profile, send me an email (erica@visionphotographs.com) with a link to your Love Nest Profile. You can be a current client of mine, or you can be a couple anywhere in the world. It doesn’t matter!

I will randomly choose one winner on March 1. The winning couple will receive a $50 gift certificate to the store of their choice, or a free engagement session ($250 value) if you live in Arizona or the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

So please get to the WC Love Nest and register before March 1!

Good Luck!

*registrants must be new and not already have a Love Nest Profile.

pithi ceremony and more ceremonies | south asian wedding photographer

February 24th, 2010 , Posted in weddings

So I know it’s been awhile, but I have some great blog love this week! I promise you’ll love it! This week is Pam and Pankaj’s wedding week ceremonies. The day of the wedding was a long one! We started with Pam’s Pithi ceremony in the morning at her home in North Phoenix.

Again, I met Pam at the Dulhania Bridal Bazaar, so thank you again to Shy and Prameet! The Pithi ceremony is a Hindu ceremony that is supposed to cleanse the bride and groom in a beautification process. I only shot Pam’s Pithi ceremony. The paste is made of tumeric, chickpea flour and other ingredients. It also is supposed to even out the skin tone.

Her whole family gathered for her Pithi ceremony that followed with other ceremonies that helped her prepare for her wedding day. It was so much fun to be surrounded by all the love, well wishes and excitement for the wedding day! Amazing colors, beautiful music and warm glows.

The wedding ceremony later that day was held at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort. What a beautiful resort! But that comes later this week….
